Public Safety incident reports from Jan. 14 - 21

Alcohol violation
A Resident Assistant saw a student carrying two cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer down the hallway of McAlister Residence Hall around 10:30 p.m. Jan. 14, according to the police report. The RA confiscated the beer and gave it to Public Safety for safekeeping.
Theft
A custodian told Public Safety he left a silver hand truck in the lobby of the Bell South building at 2 p.m. Jan. 14. The custodian told police the $400 hand truck was missing when he returned 15 minutes later.
Bicycle theft
A student told Public Safety her bicycle was stolen from the I lot bicycle rack. She says she left the $470 black city cruiser locked with a U-bolt lock and a cable lock around Dec. 16. She noticed the bicycle missing when she returned from winter break Jan. 10, according to the police report.
Malicious vandalism
A gray SUV ran through the closed garage gate leaving the St. Phillip Street Garage just after 3 a.m. Jan. 16, according to the police report. A Public Safety officer says he followed the car to Smith and Vanderhorst Streets. The officer says he arrested the driver for malicious injury to real property.
Alcohol violation
Public Safety saw nine males playing beer pong in a common area in McAlister Residence Hall after a fire alarm was pulled Jan. 16, according to the police report. Public Safety says they confiscated 31 cans of Bud Light, one can of Busch beer and two  bottles of spiced rum.
Fire alarm pull
A fire alarm in McAlister was manually pulled Jan. 16, according to the police report. The reporting officer says no smoke or fire conditions were present. Public Safety says they found 25 students who did not leave the building when the alarm went off, nine of whom were drinking alcohol in one room.
Drugs
A Public Safety officer says he found two male students smoking marijuana in the garden area of Buist Rutledge Residence Hall. The officer smelled marijuana and saw the two males sitting on the patio holding their breath, according to the police report. When the officer asked the males what they were doing they both exhaled smoke away from him, according to the report. Public Safety says one male had a five-inch glass pipe and the other had a small bag of green leaves.
Drugs
Public Safety and a George Street Apartments Resident Assistant found drugs and paraphernalia in a room after receiving information that the resident was selling drugs out of the room, according to the police report. Public Safety says they confiscated five sandwich bags containing a leafy green substance, a blue plastic container labeled “synthesizer” with a leafy green residue, a metal seed and stem grinder with green leaves and powder, a digital scale and a 750 ml bottle of Jagermeister. The resident told Public Safety he used marijuana for personal recreation and did not distribute drugs.
Bicycle theft
A blue Schwinn bicycle went missing from the Tate Center rack between Jan. 15 and Jan. 18, according to the police report.
 Trespassing
Public Safety arrested a man leaving the bike shed area behind 10 Warren Place for trespassing after notice Jan. 18, according to the police report.
Graffiti
Public Safety says they found the words “Steve Krajewski not bombs” spray painted in black on the wall of the Wentworth Street Garage Jan. 21. The graffiti is five feet by 15 feet, according to the police report.
Radio, hat, rugs stolen
A faculty member told Public Safety a gray radio with cassette player, a purple hat and two rugs were missing from a locked custodial closet in the Cato Center Jan. 21. She told Public Safety she last saw the missing items Jan. 11.
