The renovations students see on Randolph Hall and the Cistern are only the surface of recent developments in the center of the campus. Workers descended into the Cistern last week to check piping and found more than 20 skeletons decaying amidst the unused pipes.

Bike theftA student told Public Safety her unregistered red bicycle was stolen from the Lightsey Center rack. The girl locked the bike to the rack with a cable lock March 10, and it was gone when she returned March 23, according to the police report. With the school year almost complete, it is time to evaluate the goals that the Student Government Association set for the 2009-2010 year. SGA published a list of initiatives at the beginning of the year, with several realistic and useful goals that SGA believes are imperative to make the College a better place for its students.

A proposal to be unveiled Thursday will forever immortalize SGA President John Capelle on the C of C campus. Capelle’s effigy will be carved in marble and displayed on a pedestal on Rivers Green.

Students spread messages of peace, love and unity during their counter-protest against Westboro Baptist Church March 23. Hundreds of students came out to support the cause while three Westboro Baptist Church members preached their anti-Semitic, anti-gay messages.

Ross Kressel and J.K. Lawler won their prospective races in the Student Government Association run-off election held Tuesday.

Kressel, the current student body secretary, is Vice-President-Elect after defeating Senator Cory Maran. Kressel will take over for Isaiah Nelson, the now President-Elect.

Lawler, a senator, is Treasurer-Elect. He defeated Senator Nicole Trevisan. Elliot Dickerson, who was briefly President-Elect, is the current SGA treasurer.

Isaiah Nelson has been disqualified from the Student Government Association's presidential election after exceeding the $400 campaign expenditure limit. Mr. Nelson won 70 percent of the vote, handily beating Elliot Dickerson.
