Seniors Laura Borza and Anna Lee Evans picked up their fifth win at the No.2 doubles spot with an 8-0 victory over Blakely Bean and Laura Janke. Senior Holly Dowse and sophomore Caroline Newman picked up an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot to clinch the doubles point.

The softball team opened its home season earlier than expected. The Cougars were supposed to open the season at South Carolina in the Palmetto State Showdown last weekend, but the winter weather canceled the event.

Men’s tennis kicked off the spring season Jan. 23 with strong performances at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. The Cougars picked up three wins against players from nationally ranked teams Indiana and Harvard.
