Cullowhee, N.C. - Junior outfielder Kristi Woodall’s three-RBI day helped lead the College of Charleston (15-18, 5-6) to a convincing 17-3 victory over Western Carolina (5-32, 1-13) in the final game of a Southern Conference softball series. C of C pounded out a season-high 17 runs on 16 hits, which was one shy of their season best.

No. 69 College of Charleston women’s tennis remains first in the Southern Conference after a 7-0 victory over visiting Wofford March 31. The win gave the women’s tennis team sole possession of the top spot in the Southern Conference rankings.

BOONE, N.C. - College of Charleston women’s tennis improved to 6-0 in the Southern Conference March 21 with a 7-0 win over the Mountaineers at Appalachian State.No. 58 C of C (13-8, 6-0 SoCon) earned victories in eight of nine matches on Sunday. Seniors Laura Borza and Anna Lee Evans picked up their fifth win at the No.2 doubles spot with an 8-0 victory over Blakely Bean and Laura Janke. Senior Holly Dowse and sophomore Caroline Newman picked up an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot to clinch the doubles point.

The softball team opened its home season earlier than expected.
The Cougars were supposed to open the season at South Carolina in the Palmetto State Showdown last weekend, but the winter weather canceled the event.

Men’s tennis kicked off the spring season Jan. 23 with strong performances at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. The Cougars picked up three wins against players from nationally ranked teams Indiana and Harvard.
