In an email to the student body Friday morning, the College of Charleston's Office of Student Life announced a concert from top-40 musician Jason Mraz. cisternyard.com first broke the story late Thursday on Twitter.

The R.E.A.C.H.  (Realizing Educational and Career Hopes) program is starting during the fall semester to serve mild to moderately intellectually disabled students at the College.

The renovations students see on Randolph Hall and the Cistern are only the surface of recent developments in the center of the campus. Workers descended into the Cistern last week to check piping and found more than 20 skeletons decaying amidst the unused pipes.

Renovations continue on three of the main buildings surrounding the Cistern, but the traditional presence of the yard will not be affected for commencement this May.

With the school year almost complete, it is time to evaluate the goals that the Student Government Association set for the 2009-2010 year. SGA published a list of initiatives at the beginning of the year, with several realistic and useful goals that SGA believes are imperative to make the College a better place for its students.

A proposal to be unveiled Thursday will forever immortalize SGA President John Capelle on the C of C campus. Capelle’s effigy will be carved in marble and displayed on a pedestal on Rivers Green.

 The grown-up circus paid Charleston a visit last week. Under the big top in Marion Square, snow cones were traded for Korbel and lithe acrobats for models in haute couture during Charleston Fashion Week March 16 through 20.

More than 250 children and C of C students danced the night away in the Carolina First Arena Feb. 26 for the annual Dance Marathon, which raised a school record-breaking $75,038.44 for the Children’s Miracle Network.

The College of Charleston sailing team competed in three events Feb. 20-21 and came away with third place at the Charleston Spring Intersectional, seventh at the USF Women’s Intersectional and a win at the SAISA Open.
