Cullowhee, N.C. - Junior outfielder Kristi Woodall’s three-RBI day helped lead the College of Charleston (15-18, 5-6) to a convincing 17-3 victory over Western Carolina (5-32, 1-13) in the final game of a Southern Conference softball series. C of C pounded out a season-high 17 runs on 16 hits, which was one shy of their season best.

BOONE, N.C. - College of Charleston women’s tennis improved to 6-0 in the Southern Conference March 21 with a 7-0 win over the Mountaineers at Appalachian State.No. 58 C of C (13-8, 6-0 SoCon) earned victories in eight of nine matches on Sunday. Seniors Laura Borza and Anna Lee Evans picked up their fifth win at the No.2 doubles spot with an 8-0 victory over Blakely Bean and Laura Janke. Senior Holly Dowse and sophomore Caroline Newman picked up an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot to clinch the doubles point.

With 2:30 left in the Southern Conference semifinals, College of Charleston’s Tony White, Jr. came out of the game, sat at the end of the bench and buried his head in his hands. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement.

On the road at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., the Cougars defeated the UNC Greensboro Spartans in a hard-fought 67-64 win Monday night. The Cougars remain undefeated after three games in the Southern Conference and move to 4-3 overall.

This much musical talent can’t be found in one place often, but ShineFest Charleston brought it all to the Joe Riley Stadium Oct. 17.

Sol Driven Train rocked all day at ShineFest, then into the night at the Charleston Pour House Oct. 17. Beginning with a children’s show at 12:30 p.m., the band came onstage in colorful costumes including huge wigs, silly hats, capes, footie pajamas and blue hair. Songs like “Circular Circus” and the “Long John Song” had everyone in the crowd dancing and laughing along.
