The Cougars’ career scoring leader, who was the last player cut by the Los Angeles Lakers at the end of their preseason training camp, was selected by the Sioux Falls Skyforce with the second pick of the NBA Development League draft over the weekend.
Sioux Falls opens training camp on Nov. 10, and begins the regular season at home against the Iowa Energy on Nov. 24. The Skyforce serve as a development team for the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers.
Goudelock averaged 4.4 points and 0.5 assists over 40 games with the Lakers last season, after averaging 23.7 points per game during his senior year in Charleston.
Last season, 42 players were called up from the D-League to the NBA, and Oklahoma City has already signed Daniel Orton, who played last season with the Tulsa 66ers, for the 2012-13 season. The league’s website boasts that 87 current NBA players have D-League experience.
