We are in the midst of a big fat Greek Family Reunion.
Welcome to NPHC Week 2015, a week of events presented by CofC’s National Pan-Hellenic Council, the governing body for African-American fraternities and sororities here on campus.
Monday’s open house may have passed, but do not fear. Remaining events in store for this week include a “Family Feud” tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Education Center room 116, a bake sale on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Cougar Mall and a chance to “Study With a Buddy” this Thursday night from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the NPHC house.
The fun continues into the weekend with a “Pie a Greek & NPHC Stroll Off” in the Stern Ballroom on Friday at 6:00 p.m. To conclude the week of festivities with a bang, NPHC will host a cookout this Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in CofC’s P-Lot.
NPHC fraternities on campus include Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma while the sororities include Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta. They have been active on campus since the 1970’s, following the appearance of the first African-American Greek lettered organizations. Nationally, the organization formed in the early 1920’s.
Don’t miss a chance to have fun with NPHC this week and look back to CisternYard for a follow-up interview highlighting the outcome of the festivities.
