The College of Charleston volleyball team lost 3-0 in the CAA Championship match against James Madison to end their hopes at a CAA title.
The Cougars put up a good fight but lost with scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-19, sealing the victory for James Madison.
As soon as JMU would get ahead, Charleston would break their stride and pull ahead, only to have the same strategy used on them. However, this wasn’t enough to bring home the victory and brought Charleston’s fifteen-game winning streak to a streaking halt.
Despite Devon Rachel’s fourteen kills and ten digs, and Krissy Mummey’s ten kills and three blocks, it was not enough to top the Dukes.
In addition to Rachel and Mummey’s rocketing performance, Kennedy Madison posted ten kills and Allison Beckman recorded a match-high 37 assists along with seven digs and two blocks.
Rachel and Mummey received all-tournament recognition after the match.
Despite the loss, the Cougars still have a potential for a spot in the NCAA Tournament bid taking place Sunday, November 26 at 9 pm.
