Shooting Occurs in North Charleston

The Charleston Police Department is investigating the death of 48 year old Dominique Sheppard who was shot multiple times on Interstate 26.

Sheppard was found lying on the road’s shoulder next to his vehicle. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the did not respond to the officers on the scene.

He was taken to MUSC and passed away later that night. Sheppard’s death is the first homicide committed in Charleston of the year.

On Friday night, Charleston police released photos of a van that was spotted at the crime scene. They are asking the public to help identify the owner of the vehicle.
