Police Investigate Hospitalized Man’s Gunshot Wounds

A man was admitted to MUSC on Sep. 13, with a gunshot wound. Police in North Charleston are investigating the possible shooting. The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, told police that the shooting occurred on 2000 block of McMillian Avenue. WCSC first reported the investigation. The North Charleston police department has not provided comments on the incident since Sep. 13.

The North Charleston police have investigated gunshot wounds that required hospital admission before. On Aug. 5, 2017, a man died in Roper Hospital after being admitted for a gunshot wound. Police were dispatched to Burton Lane after gunshots were overheard. At the scene, police found shell casings but no victim. They later found that the victim was dropped off at Roper Hospital while on duty.

On Aug. 15, 2017, North Charleston police investigated a shooting when a man was taken to Medical University Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. The Aug. 15 shooting allegedly took place in the area of Cancha Lane and Verde Avenue. The victim did not want to tell authorities the circumstances of the event. More recently, a man was sent MUSC with a gunshot wound on Sep. 24 after an incident on the 1300 block of Kruger Avenue near Savannah Highway.
