As an undergraduate, student-run literary magazine, Miscellany, provides students with an opportunity to develop themselves professionally. At Miscellany we strive to create a competitive environment in which students across the country can submit their creative work for publication. We provide students with their first, hands-on experience with the publishing world, whether through working as an editor for the magazine or by having their work published. Our goal is to operate similarly to professional literary magazines in the hopes to prepare students for the literary industry after college.
Miscellany is the undergraduate-produced Literary and Art Journal based at the College of Charleston. Part of the CisternYard Media collective, Miscellany is dedicated to providing a competitive venue for emerging student writers and artists across the nation. We are open to all genres, but typically publish poetry, fiction, and various forms of visual art. Submissions are approved by the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Editor, and volunteer Editorial Staff. The finished product is distributed every April at a launch event in The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art.
